Volunteer
Mission
The mission of the Volunteer Department is to encourage members of our community to join the Sisters of Christian Charity in their mission of providing quality health care in a Christian manner to the people in our community.
We welcome individuals 16 years of age and older to apply.
Opportunities for student (High School Students ages 16-18) volunteers are as follows:
1. Summer volunteer – applications will be accepted throughout the year, with a deadline of May 28, 2010. Interviews will be scheduled from June 10th through June 16th with a mandatory orientation class scheduled for June 21, 2010. Students will be scheduled for one to two days per week, 3-4 hours per day, and must be able to volunteer during regular business hours. We ask for a regular commitment of time with a minimum of 25 hours of service for the summer.
2. During school year volunteer – student volunteers may only volunteer during the school year as part of their school day. Students are only accepted through the school senior project/internship program; please check with your school’s counselor for information.
3. Exceptions – volunteers who have successfully completed their summer commitment may, on occasion, stay on through the school year for after school or weekend opportunities. We do not make age exceptions with respect to the minimum age requirement.
While we always enjoy speaking with parents, we prefer students contact us themselves regarding questions about applying. We are always available through e-mail if you are unable to reach via the phone.
