State-of-the-Art Electrophysiology Lab
Geisinger Holy Spirit’s electrophysiology lab gives specialists a sophisticated environment for treating heart rhythm disorders, or arrhythmias.
Diagnosis and Treatment of Arrhythmias
With an excellent support staff of dedicated electrophysiology nurses and technicians, our Electrophysiology (EP) Division uses the most technologically advanced equipment to diagnose and treat arrhythmias.
Patients with heart arrhythmias can sometimes be treated with medication or cardioversion, a type of electrical shock, to get the heartbeat back on track. Often, patients with arrhythmias require implantable devices such as a pacemaker or defibrillator to help regulate the heartbeat.
The Area's Most Experienced Electrophysiologists
Geisinger Holy Spirit’s experienced electrophysiologists have implanted thousands of pacemakers, defibrillators and biventricular defibrillators, using advanced modalities such as robotically assisted atrial fibrillation catheter ablations.
Many of our patients with pacemakers and defibrillators can be followed using remote monitoring systems, giving them more freedom. We focus not only on how a patient’s heart condition affects longevity, but also on improving quality of life. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 717-724-6450.
