Welcome to Nursing at Holy Spirit
We welcome your interest in nursing at Holy Spirit Hospital. Here at Holy Spirit, we have a rich heritage of caring for those in need as we continue the work of our founding sponsors, the Sisters of Christian Charity.
Please take the time to get to know us. It is a true privilege for me to serve with my nursing colleagues at Holy Spirit Hospital. Our nurses embrace a passion for excellence, serving with distinction and exemplifying the “Spirit of Caring” through Relationship-Based Care.
Our nurses are our treasured resource and deserve an environment that supports professional practice and recognizes their contribution. Professional Practice Councils are the foundation for empowering staff nurses to work with a high level of autonomy, managing their clinical practice and working environment. Our Councils provide an infrastructure for our nurses to work with their colleagues to create consistent, evidence-based nursing care throughout our hospital.
High quality nursing leadership is a keystone of high quality care. I am blessed with a leadership team characterized by impeccable integrity and ethics, visibility to our staff, patients, and families, and a mindset of mutual respect, continuous learning and professional collegiality.
I am thrilled to be a part of the Holy Spirit nursing team and honored to work with such awesome nurses. Consider Holy Spirit as you make the decision where you will practice. The environment and opportunities here are phenomenal. The future of nursing is here.
Lisa F. Lewis, MSN, RN, NEA-BC

What Is It Like to Be a Nurse at Holy Spirit Hospital?
Our nurses tell you in their own words:
“I have worked in the caring and compassionate environment of Holy Spirit Hospital for 35 years. I truly love my job as a nurse, where every day is uniquely rewarding and also challenging. I am proud to work in an organization where patient safety and patient satisfaction are priorities.”
“I have recently been involved in the Relationship-Based Care initiative – which promotes a healthy relationship with the patient and family, a commitment to our co-workers and the importance of taking care of ourselves as individuals. Knowledge-Based Charting, including medication administration, allows us to pair current technology with nursing expertise. Administration treats every staff member with respect and also encourages the individual to have a voice through staff meetings and participation in Professional Practice activities.” – Lois C., RN-C
“I have been at Holy Spirit Hospital for nine years. I began my career as a nursing assistant while attending nursing school. While working here, I have been given the opportunity to work on several different units, including telemetry, medical-surgical/vascular and a cardiovascular unit. Currently I am working on a surgical floor where teamwork and support is vital to patient health and satisfaction. Holy Spirit Hospital has helped me fulfill my nursing career goals by helping me grow as a person and encouraging me to further my education by being involved in hospital and unit councils. Because education is a key component of nursing at Holy Spirit, I have gained the knowledge I need to provide the best patient care.” – Andrea K., RN, BSN

You must apply to every position for which you have an interest. You will only be considered for those positions in which you clearly meet the job requirements.
I see several job postings with the same job title. Do I need to apply to all of them, or may I just apply to one, assuming I will be considered for the remaining postings?

I read the job requirements and I don’t have everything that’s required. Should I still apply?
We will only consider applicants who meet the minimum job requirements listed on the job posting. If you do not meet the requirements listed, and you are interested in that particular career path, we encourage you to pursue training or experience before applying for the position.

Because we receive an overwhelming amount of applications on a daily basis for our openings, we are not able to respond to each and every candidate. Each application is reviewed by the appropriate recruiter and/or hiring manager. If further interest is determined, you will be contacted for additional consideration.

We require your Social Security Number for verification and background screening purposes. The information is kept confidential and secure. This field is not required at this time and you are able to provide this information later in the application process if you do not feel comfortable providing it at this time.
The registration process asked for an email address and I don’t have one. Now what?
Your email address is one of your unique identifiers in creating your login and applicant profile. We also use email as the primary method of communication with our applicants. If you don’t have an email address, we encourage you to sign up for a free account. www.Gmail.com and www.Yahoo.com are examples of providers that offer these free accounts.
Do you keep applications on file for future job openings?
Your profile is saved in our system for you to log in and apply to positions that may be of interest to you in the future. However, you will need to apply to each position for which you would like to be considered. We do not search our saved profiles for potential applicants. When applying for any of our opportunities we encourage you to ensure your profile is up to date so we are not missing any information for consideration.
