Dr. Richard Griffiths joins Holy Spirit’s Kunkel Surgical Group
Richard L. Griffiths, DO, joins Drs. Paul Kunkel, J. Bret DeLone, Salvatore Parascandola and Chinh Pham at Holy Spirit’s Kunkel Surgical Group on October 1. Dr. Griffiths will continue to practice at his current office at One Tyler Court, Carlisle, and will care for patients at Holy Spirit Hospital and at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. The Kunkel Surgical Group also has an office at the Medical Arts Building, 890 Poplar Church Road, Camp Hill. All five surgeons will see patients at both office locations.
Fund-raiser to benefit hospital and community
On Saturday, November 5, the Holy Spirit Hospital Auxiliary will host its 21st annual Share the Spirit Gala at the Hilton Harrisburg. The Gala will begin at 6 p.m., and includes cocktails, dinner and dancing. A silent auction, raffle drawing and champagne raffle will also be held. Entertainment will be provided by Erin Cruise & Cruise Control. Black tie attire is optional.
Educational Seminar on Minimally Invasive Robot-Assisted Surgery for Urology Issues to be Offered
In November, Holy Spirit Health System will host a free educational seminar on how minimally invasive robot-assisted surgery can be used to treat urology conditions and diseases. Christopher P. Moyer, DO, Urology of Central PA, will present “Applications of the da Vinci® Robot in Urology” on Monday, November 14, at 6 p.m. The lecture will be held in Holy Spirit Hospital’s Auditorium.
Holy Spirit Named One of Best Places to Work in PA
Holy Spirit Health System has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for 2011. The awards program, created in 2000, is one of the first statewide programs of its kind in the country. The program is a public/private partnership between Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Central Penn Business Journal.
Holy Spirit Health System Offers Endocrinology Services
Sola Osundeko, MD, FRCPath FACP, FACE, and Ann Bero, MSN, FNP-BC, have joined Holy Spirit Health System at its new endocrinology practice. Dr. Osundeko is the medical director of the new Holy Spirit Endocrinology Center, located in Camp Hill.
Holy Spirit Ranks in Top 14 Percent of Joint Commission Accredited Hospitals for Quality
Holy Spirit Hospital today was named as one of the top performers on key quality measures by the Joint Commission in its Improving America’s Hospitals: The Joint Commission’s Annual Report on Quality and Safety 2011 report.
Educational Seminar on Fall Prevention to be Offered
Holy Spirit Health System will host a free educational seminar on fall prevention in October. Ellen Feidt, RN, patient safety officer, Holy Spirit Health System, will present “Don’t Fall for Me” on Thursday, October 20, at 6 p.m. The lecture will be held in Holy Spirit Hospital’s Auditorium.
