Weekly Resident Conferences

Conferences are held at noon on Wednesday in Hospital Classroom 1 and are chaired by Richard Schreiber, MD. Residents, medical students, physician assistants and attending physicians are welcome. Lunch is provided.

In this free series, top-ranked faculty with a variety of backgrounds and areas of expertise lecture on the latest medical topics, addressing identified gaps in physician education.

Geisinger Holy Spirit is accredited by the Pennsylvania Medical Society to sponsor Continuing Medical Education for physicians. In addition to CME credits, some activities may carry CNE credits and/or AAFP credits.

BLS, ACLS and PALS Instruction for Health Care Providers

Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers

Topics include:

  • Warning signs of heart attack and stroke
  • Use of a barrier device and bag-mask ventilation
  • CPR with AED and foreign body airway obstruction relief for the adult, child and infant

A course completion card is issued upon successful completion of a written exam and skills demonstration.

HeartCode Basic Life Support (BLS) Renewal for Healthcare Providers

A renewal option for providers who enjoy computer based training. In this blended learning experience, computer simulations and testing are followed by an instructor led skills demonstration.


Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Our Library serves health practitioners and the community. Staffed by a medical librarian, it is located on the first floor of the hospital near Health Information Services. Its resources include:
