Peripheral Artery Disease Screenings - A special edition to September's Monthly Screenings

Wednesday, September 3, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Holy Spirit Hospital Auditorium, 503 N. 21st Street, Camp Hill

Open to men and women age 18 and older

Each month Holy Spirit Hospital offers free and low-cost health screenings to the public . For the month of September, we've added Peripheral Artery Disease screenings to the line up. Peripheral Artery Disease, or P.A.D., occurs when arteries in the legs become narrowed or clogged with plaque (cholesterol), reducing blood flow to the legs and resulting in pain, disability, and even amputation. Blocked leg arteries can be a red flag that other arteries, including those in the heart and brain, may also be blocked – increasing the risk of a heart attack or stroke. People over age 50 have a higher risk for P.A.D., but the risk is also increased if you are/were a smoker, have been diagnosed with diabetes and/or heart disease, have high blood pressure, have high cholesterol, have already had a heart attack or stroke, or are of African American ethnicity. The good news is that when P.A.D. is diagnosed early, it can be easily treated.

If you’d like to be screened for Peripheral Artery Disease, don’t miss this special opportunity at Holy Spirit Hospital. We will be offering complimentary P.A.D. screenings in addition to our regular monthly screenings. Attend to take advantage of the following services:

P.A.D. Screening – FREE

Blood Pressure – FREE

Bone Density Screening for Osteoporosis – FREE

Glucose Screening – $2

Cholesterol Screening – $5

There is no need to register. Our monthly screening events are open to men and women age 18 and older. Invite family and friends. We encourage everyone to take steps now to improve your cardiovascular health!

For more information on monthly screenings, please call (717) 763-2427. For questions related to the P.A.D. screenings, please call (717) 763-4860.
