The program is designed to provide a secure and healthy walking environment to keep your body moving. Also, enjoy access to Holy Spirit health screenings and educational health lectures.</p>

<p>Holy Spirit Health System offers a free support group for pregnant women and new mothers. Mothers can bring their babies up to 15 months old. “Mom’s Place” is for women who feel overwhelmed, sad, worried, or need extra support. “Mom’s Place” meets every Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 20 Erford Road, Suite 11, Lemoyne.</p>

<p>“Mom’s Place” is led by a clinician from Holy Spirit Hospital’s Behavioral Health department. The group is educational, supportive, and fun. Light refreshments are provided. “Mom’s Place” also hosts family night where women can bring partners or spouses. For more information, please call 763-2200.</p>

<p><font face="Helvetica">Throughout the year, Holy Spirit Hospital offers free and low-cost health screenings to the public.&nbsp;For our&nbsp;December screening event, attendees can take advantage of the following services:</font></p>

<li><font face="Helvetica">Blood Pressure Screening&nbsp;- Free</font></li>
<li><font face="Helvetica">Body Mass Index (BMI) Screening&nbsp;- Free</font></li>
<li>Carotid Artery Screening - Free; <em>a non-invasive&nbsp;ultrasound&nbsp;screening of the neck&nbsp;that measures plague and blood flow in the arteries.</em></li>
<li><font face="Helvetica">Cholesterol Screening - Free; <em>provides total cholesterol number, not HDL or LDL levels. No fasting is required. </em></font></li>
<li><font face="Helvetica">Glucose Screening&nbsp;- Free</font></li>
</ul>

<p>These screenings are offered in the hospital auditorium from 2 to 6 p.m. You do not need to pre-register for any of these services. If you have any questions, please call 763-2427.</p>

<p>Holy Spirit-A Geisinger Affiliate and Messiah College will present "Igniting the Spirit of Inquiry," a nursing research conference, on Friday, Dec. 9. The conference will be held at the Cardinal Keeler Center, 4800 Union Deposit Road, Harrisburg. The opening session will begin at 8:30 a.m.</p>

<p>Conference topics will include "Evidence-Based Practice and Trauma Nursing: A Multi Modal Approach to Life Flight Critical Care Transport," presented by Jerry Splitt, BSN, RN, CCRN, CMTE;&nbsp;"PPP: Preparing for the Publishing Process," presented by Tara Jankouskas, PhD, RN and Beth Transue, MLS, MET;&nbsp;"A-Z’s of the Zika Virus," presented by Pamela Harris-Haman, DNP, CRNP, NNP-BC, and&nbsp;"Pain Management: A Multidisciplinary Approach," presented by Nichole Harmon, MSN, CRNP. The keynote address, "The Effect of Evidence-Based Practice at the Bedside, Clinically and Professionally," will be delivered by Melanie Duffy, MSN, RN, CCRN, CCNS.</p>

<p>Join the Spirit of Women program as we celebrate the holidays during our December workshop. We are hosting a painting party in the hospital auditorium with <a href="http://www.paintncreate.com/"><strong>Paint &amp; Create</strong></a>, an entertainment art studio. For $25 per person, you will receive professional art instruction to guide you every step of the way in creating your own holiday masterpiece. The fee provides for everything you will need – canvas, brushes, paint, and refreshments.&nbsp; <strong>The $25 fee is payable at the door or in advance.&nbsp;After you register, you will receive an email&nbsp;with details on payment.</strong>&nbsp; Join the fun as we close out a successful year of Spirit of Women programming!&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Our monthly diabetes support group will present "Controlling Diabetes Burnout." Diabetes can be a full-time job that you don't get paid for. Learn how to better manage diabetes burnout and not let diabetes control your life. Held in the conference room located in the back of the dining area at Wegmans, Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg. The session is free and no registration is necessary.</p>
