Girls’ Night Out to be held in October

Holy Spirit Health System is hosting a free Spirit of Women event in October. "Spirit Girls' Night Out," will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, October 14, at the Harrisburg Area Community College's Wildwood Conference Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Please park at Gate 4.  Directions can be found at www.hacc.edu/wildwood.

With the theme "Your Best Health is in the Bag," Spirit Girls' Night Out will bring women together for fun, inspiration and learning. Free health screenings, including BMI, blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol, bone density, cardiovascular risk, sleep assessment, pulmonary embolism (PE) risk and carotid artery, will be offered at the event. You must pre-register for the health screenings and spa treatments. Carotid artery screenings will be offered on a first-come first-served basis at the event.

Attendees can have their skin evaluated for sun damage using facial photography and can receive a free mini skin consultation from Laurel Bailey, MD, Laser & Aesthetic Services at Silver Creek. To schedule these services, please call 591-1425.

The following health presentations will be offered:

6:30 p.m. – “Breast Health, Breast Cancer and Treatment Options” by Todd Campbell, MD, Oakwood Breast Care Center

6:30 & 7 p.m. – “The Doctor/Patient Team – It Works!” by Claudette G. Jatto, MD, Jatto Internal Medicine & Wellness Center

6:30 & 7 p.m. – “Ask the Diabetes Educator” by Sue Nesmith, RN, Holy Spirit Diabetes Services

7 p.m. – “Breast Health, Breast Cancer and Treatment Options” by Angela Soto Hamlin, MD, Oakwood Breast Care Center

7 p.m. – “This is Serious: Could You Get a Blood Clot?” by Marta Valencic, RN and Jeanne Freier, RN, Holy Spirit Hospital

7:30 p.m. – Dermal Fill Demonstration by Laurel Bailey, Silver Creek Laser & Aesthetics

Participants can gather health information, talk with physicians, take advantage of the Mary Kay 5-minute makeovers, update their jewelry with Stella and Dot, and enjoy shopping, spa treatments by HACC Massage School, door prizes and more. Egyptian Moon Dance Company will demonstrate belly dancing at 6 and 7:30 p.m. Art in Motion Fitness will present Zumba from 8 to 9 p.m.
