John R. Dietz Emergency Center
Holy Spirit’s John R. Dietz Emergency Center provides emergency care services seven days a week, 24 hours a day. And we do it with speed, precision and extraordinary competence.
The average amount of time it takes us to register each patient who walks through our door is about one minute. The average time it takes us to get each patient into a bed is 7 to 9 minutes. By the time one of our emergency medicine physicians sees you, labwork and x-rays have been completed, and the work of tending to your care has been expedited by our certified nurses.
To reach emergency physicians and staff, please call 717-972-4300.
Primary care services are also provided through the emergency center Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Patients should call ahead for driver, school and sports physicals, and immunizations.
To schedule an appointment, call 717-763-2461. The physicians and nurse practitioners working in the emergency center are employed by EmCare and bill their services separately from the hospital.

We also offer the 12-lead EKG system, a vital diagnostic tool that performs a pre-hospital evaluation of heart attacks, allowing the cardiologist and cath lab to treat patients more effectively upon arrival.
For non-emergency needs, West Shore EMS provides patient transportation services via wheelchair van, invalid coach and ambulance.
Special services include:
· Consulting to evaluate area emergency response needs and strategic planning throughout the Commonwealth.
· Billing for other pre-hospital organizations.
· Vehicle maintenance performed by certified mechanics in a certified inspection station.
