Nurse Residency Program
We welcome new nurses into the practice with our Nurse Residency Program. This nine-month, transition-to-practice program begins after the two-week hospital and nursing orientation.

At Holy Spirit, we support our employees through scholarships, externships and other programs.
Holy Spirit provides a scholarship that covers the cost of tuition and required textbooks for students enrolled in the clinical portion of a Registered Nursing program.
The RN Scholarship program reimburses students up to $5,000 per year. Students are also eligible to receive medical benefits at the full-time employee rate.
All scholarship opportunities are based on staffing needs and are subject to change.

How do I apply for a position with Holy Spirit — A Geisinger Affiliate?
Visit our Careers page www.hsh.org/careers and search our current openings for a position of interest to you and that matches your skill set. All applicants must create a profile, an application and apply to each specific position of interest for consideration. Returning applicants can log in as a returning applicant and apply to any new openings and update their profile.
I realized I made a mistake on my application after I submitted it. I tried reapplying, but was unable.
Our application system only allows you to apply once to each job posting. Please contact our Human Resources Department at 717-972-4100, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm, Eastern Standard Time, for additional assistance.
My resume wouldn’t import into the application.

I don’t see an open position I am interested in right now. Can I complete a general application or submit a resume for a future opening?
No. Unfortunately, you can only complete an online application for a current job posting. Resumes submitted outside of the online application will not be considered. You must apply to every position for which you have an interest. You will only be considered for those positions in which you clearly meet the job requirements.
I see several job postings with the same job title. Do I need to apply to all of them, or may I just apply to one, assuming I will be considered for the remaining postings?
If there are several job postings with the same job title, you must apply to each one you are interested in. Your application will only be considered for the posting(s) for which you applied.
I read the job requirements and I don’t have everything that’s required. Should I still apply?
We will only consider applicants who meet the minimum job requirements listed on the job posting. If you do not meet the requirements listed, and you are interested in that particular career path, we encourage you to pursue training or experience before applying for the position.
I submitted an application, but never received a response. Why not?
Because we receive an overwhelming amount of applications on a daily basis for our openings, we are not able to respond to each and every candidate. You should, however, receive an automated response immediately from the system indicating that your application has been received. Each application is reviewed by the appropriate recruiter and/or hiring manager. If further interest is determined, you will be contacted for additional consideration.
The application asked me for my Social Security Number. Why is that? Is it secure?
We require your Social Security Number for verification and background screening purposes. The information is kept confidential and secure. This field is not required at this time and you are able to provide this information later in the application process if you do not feel comfortable providing it at this time.
The registration process asked for an email address and I don’t have one. Now what?
Your email address is one of your unique identifiers in creating your login and applicant profile. We also use email as the primary method of communication with our applicants. If you don’t have an email address, we encourage you to sign up for a free account. www.Gmail.com and www.Yahoo.com are examples of providers that offer these free accounts.
Do you keep applications on file for future job openings?
Your profile is saved in our system for you to log in and apply to positions that may be of interest to you in the future. However, you will need to apply to each position for which you would like to be considered. We do not search our saved profiles for potential applicants. When applying for any of our opportunities we encourage you to ensure your profile is up to date so we are not missing any information for consideration.
I am interested in a nursing externship, how do I apply?
We offer a 10-week, full-time, temporary, paid position open to student nurses from NLN accredited BSN nursing programs who anticipate graduating the following December or May after completing the summer externship. Applications for our Student Nurse Externship program are typically accepted September through November, with the deadline for this annual program being early December. Nursing students can complete an online application on our Careers page when the positions are posted.
I would like to come in and observe a particular area. How do I do this?
On a space available basis, various Job Shadowing opportunities may be afforded to individuals enrolled in a formal training program or post secondary course of study. Holy Spirit does not provide individual opportunities for high school students.
How old must you be to work at Holy Spirit?
You must be at least 18 years of age to work at Holy Spirit — A Geisinger Affiliate.
Does Holy Spirit have a Nursing Assistant program?
No, Holy Spirit does not offer a formal training program for individuals interested in being a Nursing Assistant.
